@TheLancet @TheLancetPsych It’s important to note that a clinical diagnosis of anxiety may sometimes replace other diagnoses (and hence coding in health records) if patients present with ‘unexplained’ symptoms. This is a phenomenon now widely recognised from #LongCovid patient testimonies.
The neuropsychiatric health consequences of allowing COVID19 to get so out of control in the US (and the fake narrative that it’s only older Americans) will haunt us for years. twitter.com/thelancet/stat…
@PeterHotez Oh this is awful! How did we let this happen? Never mind....I know exactly who the culprit was and how he lived in denial, self interest and total lack of compassion, spreading his lies. So thankful for YOU, dear Dr. Hotez. So grateful.
This is so interesting. I started to read @johnmbarry's 'The Great Influenza' a few weeks ago (great book! highly recommended). There are so many parallels between COVID-19 and the 1918 pandemic - potentially including neurologic/psychiatric disorders triggered by infection. twitter.com/TheLancet/stat…
